WOW! I am totally overwhelmed by the awesome response to the contest. I had over 280 comments alone on the blog post, and a handful of votes on other posts, through email, and in Flickr comments. Overall, I'd say that my first contest was a success! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comments and guessing which image may win...

The race was super close between the top 2 images... and for that reason(and the fact that they are both wonderful shots!), I decided to award both of them the 11x14 print.

HAIDYN [newborn]

I thought about waiting to post another post until the contest was over, but I thought you all might want to see some new pics! And I have been wanting to share these precious ones of tiny little Haidyn.

I have been photographing Haidyn's big sister Aislyn since whe was as new as Haidyn. And now Aislyn is a proud and very helpful big sister!

2008 FAVORITES [CONTEST!]

OK, so I'm a day late on the monster post that I promised for yesterday. But in my defense...it took me almost the ENTIRE day yesterday to go through my files in preparation for this post!

To kick off the new year, I decided what a better time to showcase some of MY favorite images from 2008. This was one of the hardest decisions ever, ever, ever! My original idea was to do a TOP 10 of 2008 showcase. HA! That was a joke! I narrowed my choices down to my top 50, and then had my family help me narrow down further until we came up with 30 amazing images. Each is unique in their own way, and each I love for different reasons. Some I like because of their uniqueness, some because of the subject's expression, and some just because they make me smile whenever I look at them. Overall I didn't look for the best smiles or even eye contact....but just something that is there that makes me in love with the image.

So, to make this more fun, I decided to have a contest. I want you to vote to pick the top image for 2008 that represents Leah Hoskins Photography. The winner will receive a mounted 11x14 wall portrait of their image, printed on metallic paper(no substitutions).
